CUSTOM PRODUCT QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Technical questions about non-standard tie-down configurations, hardware, ratings and sample requests.

Can you modify an existing ratchet strap instead of designing a new product?

A custom request can start with an existing catalog product or a reference assembly.

You can identify which features need to change, such as strap length, fixed-end length, webbing width, ratchet mechanism, or end fittings.

We will compare the requested configuration with available components and review whether the modified assembly is technically suitable.

What specifications should I provide for a custom tie-down strap?

Please identify the required webbing width, overall length, fixed-end length, ratchet or buckle type, and end fittings.

Also include the intended cargo, attachment points, target working load limit (WLL), and operating environment.

For example, a request might specify a 2-inch × 27-foot ratchet strap with a particular wire-hook configuration and fixed-end length. This describes the requested configuration; its suitability and rating still require verification.

Can I replace wire hooks with flat hooks or E-Track fittings?

Different end fittings are designed for different attachment systems. They should not be treated as interchangeable without checking the complete assembly.

Provide photos or specifications of the vehicle's anchor points and identify the fitting you want to use.

We can review dimensional compatibility, the load path, component ratings, and whether a suitable assembly configuration is available.

Will changing the strap length, ratchet, or hook affect its working load limit?

A change to a load-bearing component may affect the rating or suitability of the complete assembly.

Webbing, ratchet mechanisms, end fittings, stitching, and other load-bearing parts must be evaluated together. A component's individual rating does not automatically establish the rating of the finished strap.

Any specified WLL and required validation must be confirmed for the final approved configuration.

Can I request a custom sample before placing a larger order?

You can include a sample request when submitting your custom product specifications.

Provide an existing sample, drawing, or reference photograph, along with the intended application, required dimensions, hardware, and estimated quantity.

After reviewing feasibility, we can discuss sample requirements, applicable costs, technical approval, and the next steps toward a production quotation.
